Before we had our massage, we were taken to Nagoya Shopping Mall by the transport provided by Isabella Massage House. All our transport in Batam for the 2 days 1 night trip was provided by the massage house because we booked their 3hr couple massage package for all 10 of us.
The moment we got to the shopping mall, hubby said I should get my hair colored since all the greys were showing, so we zoomed in on the first salon we came upon, Beauty Credit. After checking out the price and making sure I would still be on time for the massage at 3.30pm, the hairdresser set off to work on my hair. It happened that he was from ESKA, another massage parlor that also provides hair service and is just across the street from the mall. The hairdresser actually came over from the massage parlor when I had confirmed the deal with the receptionist.
While my hair was being worked on, the staff tried to get hubby to sit down for a massage. Well, too bad we were booked for a massage at their rival’s place but we couldn’t tell them that, so we just said we were in a hurry. The hairdresser was quite meticulous in applying the chemical and even did 2 applications since he said red color is more difficult to apply. I also got a trim and was happy with the result. I actually felt quite sexy with the new colour and haircut LOL
Isabella is also just opposite the mall and has about 5 or 6 storeys of massage rooms.
We paid RP 790,000 per couple (S$105) for 3 hours of scrub, mask and aroma massage. We were taken to rooms upstairs and I remember climbing so many flights of stairs that I forgot which floor hubby and I were on. But there were bathrooms/toilets on each floor and each individual room has an attached shower room.
We were taken to a room with only a flimsy curtain to protect our privacy and asked to removed our clothes. I was given a shower cap for my hair, a pair of black disposable undies and a pair of shorts. Hubby was given just a pair of shorts. Then the massage began. We both lie face down on our own massage bed and the masseuses begun with the scrub. It was quite an enjoyable experience as the masseuses were very professional and patiently scrubbed, rubbed and kneaded our bodies.
Then came the paint brush which was used to brush the mask over our bodies. I could hear hubby snore when we were left alone when the mask was applied. He told me beforehand to wake him up if he snored but I let him sleep 😛 I actually fell asleep towards the end of the mask session and was shocked to feel a wet cloth going over my body. The masseuse had to apologize for scaring me awake 😛
After the mask was removed, I was asked to take a shower. The shower room was shared with the room next door so I had to make sure both doors to the shower were locked. Hubby had to use the bathroom outside, although Irene and Steven were told to shower together by their masseuses.
Anyway, the massage after the shower was muy bueno, wery good. Just enough strength was used and it was really very relaxing. The lady knew just where to press and boy, what strong fingers she has. The body massage ended much too soon and we were asked to sit up for the head and scalp massage which was very good too, and I especially liked it when the spots beside the eyes were massaged, and so did hubby.
Then we were given the body twists with the masseuses seated behind us, locking first our right arm and leg with their limps and swinging our bodies lightly from side to side a few times, and then Crack! We got twisted from the waist, first to the left, and then they changed to the other limps and gave another good twist to the right. Finally the kinks in our bodies were ironed out LOL
It was excelente, the whole 3 hours of it. Naturally, we had to tip them generously for all their hard work, S$10 for each of them. It is normal practice to just tip S$2 but they don’t earn very much so a S$5 is better, more if they’re really good like in our case.
Outside the massage parlor we found this little fella. His name is Timber, a very affectionate dog who loves to be patted and scratched. He has one quirk though…he barks when the prayer is being broadcast over the city. Funny creature.
