Swenson’s at IMM / Ichiban Sushi at Bukit Panjang Plaza

I guess some of you already know that I love taking photos of the food I eat.  It is a trait these days of Singaporeans…shoot first then eat.  Hubby will even remind me to take pictures before he starts attacking the food.  But the pictures don’t necessarily end up on this blog or Facebook because I sometimes forget to post them or simply don’t have the time to do so.  But here are some pictures which were taken weeks ago…

At Swenson’s:

Baked Ocean Mussels

This was probably the best dish of the night.  Even hubby who is not a cheese lover loved it.  The mussels were fresh and succulent and baked just right.

Grilled Barramundi with lemon butter sauce

This is my main course.  The fish was alright if not a little bland, it was the sauce that spoiled it all.  Only tasted of butter, where was the lemon?  And the vegetables were hard, probably just dipped into boiling water and that was it.  The mashed potato was nothing to shout about.  Disappointed 😦

Chicken Victoria

Hubby’s choice, probably taken in by the name, Victoria 😛 Well, names can be deceiving too, and this certainly was deceiving.  Bland chicken breasts.  The pale look should have been a warning for us.

Enough whining about bad food.  Here are some good ones, from Ichiban Sushi.  You can never go wrong with Japanese food…at least, that’s the case for me 🙂

Beef

Don’t ask me the name of this dish because it’s too complicated to remember 😛  Anyway, it’s a beef dish that comes with raw salmon, chawanmushi (steamed egg), miso soup, rice and fruits.

Chicken

Another nameless dish.  Chicken with eggs on a steaming hotpot, salmon sashimi, miso soup, rice and fruits.  Yummy!

Blue Jolly and Candy Apple sodas

Sodas to keep the kids happy.  The adults had only green tea.  Cheaper *rollseyes*

That’s it for now.  The good and bad restaurants 😛

  1. very interesting, new and unusual food for me. we were always encouraged to try
new foods. a lot of that looked really good.

  2. Judy,

Just give me doubles on the baked Oyster with the cheese…Yummy looking…Out of all of it they looked the best…You talked about bland…I think Meso soup is really bland, which is why I don’t like it….I don’t eat hot food but do like to have them highly flavored with spices…Horrible to pay for food and not enjoy it…Better luck next time..

    Hugs, Joan

  3. I had the victoria chicken before. Kinda like it. The meat was quite tender & the taste was to my liking as well.
